Unity Line passenger and vehicle ferry serving Poland–Sweden routes
About the operator
Unity Line inside the new POLSCA Baltic Ferries network
Unity Line is a long-established Polish ferry brand linking Poland with southern Sweden. The
familiar Świnoujście–Ystad and Świnoujście–Trelleborg routes remain important parts of its passenger
offer, while the Gdańsk–Karlshamn connection joined the network during 2026 and now has a timetable
published through 22 December.
A major change took effect on 30 March 2026. Unity Line, Polferries and EuroAfrica began selling passenger and cargo tickets under a shared brand, POLSCA Baltic Ferries, using one integrated sales system. For EUFerry, keeping a Unity Line page remains useful because the brand, ships and route information are still visible to travellers, but current bookings need to be understood in the wider POLSCA context.
Passenger experience varies by ferry. Polonia and Skania provide the broadest cruise-ferry
facilities, while Jantar Unity, Epsilon and Copernicus are more cargo-oriented. Some of those
departures accept passengers only when travelling with a vehicle.
2026 booking change: POLSCA Baltic Ferries is now the shared booking brand. Check both the route and the actual ship before assuming that cabins, lifts, foot-passenger access or other facilities will be identical.
Poland to southern Sweden
Unity Line routes
These routes reflect the Unity Line/POLSCA passenger offer in 2026: two established Świnoujście
links plus Gdańsk–Karlshamn, whose latest official timetable is published from 17 August through 22
December 2026.

Ystad
Świnoujście–Ystad is Unity Line's best-known passenger corridor and takes about seven and a half
hours on current route information.
Day and night departures
Passenger-oriented ferries include Polonia and Skania
Gdańsk–Karlshamn is a new 2026 connection in the network. The voyage takes about 14.5 to 15 hours
and operates several days a week using Skania and Copernicus; Unity Line currently publishes
sailings through 22 December 2026.
Skania provides the fuller passenger product
Copernicus has more limited passenger facilities and no dog carriage
Karlshamn gives direct access to Blekinge and the E22 road corridor
The EUFerry Unity Line map illustrates the operator's established southern-Baltic links between
Świnoujście and Sweden. The 2026 passenger network has evolved further through POLSCA Baltic
Ferries, including the new 2026 Gdańsk–Karlshamn service.
The map is retained as a visual guide rather than a complete live timetable. Current departures and
shared POLSCA ship allocations should always be checked during booking.
After choosing the most practical route, compare the live Unity Line sailing for departure time,
calling pattern, passenger requirements and the facilities or accommodation shown for that service.
The complete itinerary and arrival location can matter more than a small difference in the headline
fare.
Since July 2026, check-in organisation at Ystad differs according to the ship. Follow terminal
signage carefully because Unity Line and Polferries/POLSCA check-in points are both used.

Three important ferry gateways
Świnoujście, Ystad and Gdańsk
Unity Line's current network links western and northern Poland with southern Sweden, giving
travellers several very different starting points for a Scandinavian road trip.
Western Poland gateway
Świnoujście
Świnoujście is Unity Line's traditional Polish hub for Ystad and Trelleborg and is well positioned
for travellers approaching from Szczecin, Berlin and western Poland.
Ystad, Trelleborg and Karlshamn are all in southern Sweden but lead naturally to different road
corridors. Compare the onward drive as part of the ferry choice.
Accommodation depends heavily on the ship
Cabins and passenger seating
Unity Line's passenger ferries offer comfortable cabin products, but freight-oriented vessels can
provide a much simpler experience. Check the actual ship before choosing a departure.
Private cabins are particularly useful on overnight Świnoujście sailings and the longer Gdańsk–Karlshamn route. Passenger-oriented ferries provide lounges and seating in addition to cabin accommodation.
Passenger seating
Passenger-oriented ferries provide general lounges and airline-style seating for travellers who do
not require a cabin.
Best considered forDay crossings and budget-focused travel
Two-berth cabins
Private two-person cabins are available on the main passenger ferries and can turn a night crossing
into useful rest.
Best considered forCouples and solo travellers
Three- and four-berth cabins
Larger private cabins suit families and groups on the full passenger-service ships.
Best considered forFamilies and small groups
Higher-category cabins
Skania includes higher-category accommodation such as deluxe cabins, while exact products vary by ship.
Best considered forPassengers wanting additional space or comfort
Special pet cabins
Pets normally travel in a special cabin designed for animals. Current rules allow a maximum of two
pets on one ticket or in one special cabin.
Best considered forPassengers travelling overnight with pets
Accessible choices
Accessibility is ship-specific. Passenger ferries are the better choice when lifts, adapted
circulation or other assistance facilities are important.
Best considered forPassengers who need confirmed accessibility
Ship-selection tip
Do not compare Unity Line departures on time and price alone. A passenger ferry such as Skania can
offer a substantially different experience from a cargo-oriented vessel such as Copernicus.
Full passenger ferries or simpler cargo-oriented ships
Restaurants, lounges, shopping and Wi-Fi
Unity Line's best-equipped passenger ferries offer a complete Baltic crossing experience, while
facilities on cargo-oriented vessels are deliberately more limited.
Skania provides à la carte and self-service restaurant choices. Full passenger ferries provide lounges and social areas beyond the cabin corridors. Shopping is available on passenger-oriented Unity Line ships such as Skania and Polonia. Family facilities are available on the main passenger ships.
Restaurants
Skania offers both à la carte and self-service dining, while Polonia also provides substantial
passenger food services.
Bars and cafés
Passenger ferries provide bars, cafés and snack choices for daytime and overnight journeys.
Onboard shopping
Selected ships include shops selling cosmetics, sweets, drinks and travel products.
Wi-Fi
Skania currently provides Wi-Fi throughout its common passenger areas on Poland–Sweden voyages.
Family and entertainment spaces
Passenger ships can include children's play rooms, entertainment, dance areas and other leisure facilities.
Limited-service vessels
Copernicus and other cargo-oriented ships provide fewer passenger facilities, so verify the assigned
vessel before booking.

Well suited to Scandinavian road trips
Vehicles, pets and accessibility
Unity Line is particularly useful for travellers bringing their own vehicle to Sweden, but
foot-passenger and accessibility options vary more than on a uniform passenger-only network.
Cars, vans, campervans and motorcycles are central to Unity Line's Poland–Sweden services. Electric-vehicle passengers currently have an earlier check-in requirement of two hours before departure. Eligible sailings offer special pet cabins and designated outdoor areas.
Cars and motorcycles
Cars and motorcycles can travel on the principal Poland–Sweden services subject to the booked
sailing and vehicle-deck capacity.
Enter the correct vehicle registration and dimensions
Follow ship-specific vehicle check-in signage
Some cargo-oriented sailings carry only motorised passengers
Campervans, vans and bicycles
Unity Line explicitly markets travel with campervans, vans, minibuses, motorcycles and bicycles for
onward Scandinavian touring.
Book the full dimensions of larger vehicles
Check whether foot/cycle boarding is available on the ship
Allow additional loading time with unusual vehicles
Travelling with pets
Up to two pets can currently travel without a separate animal fare, but special cabin rules normally
apply and pet acceptance differs by vessel.
Book the pet in advance
Use a lead and muzzle or suitable carrier
Copernicus on Gdańsk–Karlshamn does not accept dogs
Reduced mobility and accessibility
Accessibility depends on the ferry. Passenger-oriented ships offer the strongest facilities;
cargo-oriented Copernicus is specifically unsuitable where specialist accessibility is required.
Check the assigned vessel before booking
Contact the operator when assistance is needed
Avoid assuming cargo-oriented ships have passenger lifts or adapted facilities
POLSCA rules now shape passenger check-in
Check-in, documents and boarding
Current shared POLSCA guidance provides the standard passenger check-in framework, while individual
ferries and ports can impose stricter practical arrival times.
Unity Line and Polferries passenger processing now overlaps under the shared POLSCA network at ports such as Ystad. Vehicle and electric-vehicle passengers should allow the full recommended terminal time.
Current passenger check-in sequence
120 minutes before
Standard check-in opens
Current POLSCA passenger guidance says passenger and vehicle check-in opens two hours before the
planned departure.
120 minutes before
Electric vehicles must report
Passengers travelling with electric vehicles must present for check-in no later than two hours
before departure.
30 minutes before
Vehicle-passenger check-in closes
The standard current cut-off for passengers travelling with vehicles is 30 minutes before departure.
15 minutes before
Foot-passenger check-in closes
The shared POLSCA guidance gives a 15-minute final cut-off for ordinary foot-passenger check-in.
Ship-specific rules
Follow stricter instructions where stated
Jantar Unity motorised passengers are told to arrive two hours before departure, and
Gdańsk–Karlshamn boarding ends around one hour before sailing.
Choose the Swedish port around the onward drive
When Unity Line can be the practical choice
Świnoujście–Ystad is a strong choice for travellers heading towards Malmö, Copenhagen and
south-eastern Skåne, while Trelleborg works especially well for the E6/E22 road network around Malmö
and onward journeys through Sweden.
The new 2026 Gdańsk–Karlshamn service changes the calculation for northern Poland. Instead of
driving west to Świnoujście, travellers can cross from Gdańsk directly into Blekinge, although the
sea journey is considerably longer.
The 2026 POLSCA integration also increases the importance of checking the actual ferry. A shared
booking system can surface ships from different operational backgrounds, and passenger comfort
differs materially between full passenger ferries and cargo-oriented vessels.
Common planning questions
Unity Line FAQs
What happened to Unity Line in 2026?
Unity Line remains an established Polish ferry brand, but from 30 March 2026 passenger and cargo
ticket sales for Unity Line, Polferries and EuroAfrica were integrated under the shared POLSCA
Baltic Ferries brand and booking system.
Which routes does Unity Line serve in 2026?
Unity Line's current passenger-facing network includes Świnoujście–Ystad, Świnoujście–Trelleborg and
Gdańsk–Karlshamn. The latest official Gdańsk–Karlshamn timetable is published from 17 August through
22 December 2026.
How long is the Świnoujście to Ystad ferry?
Unity Line currently describes the Świnoujście–Ystad crossing as taking about 7.5 hours.
How long is Świnoujście to Trelleborg?
The Świnoujście–Trelleborg crossing takes about seven hours on current Unity Line route information.
How long is Gdańsk to Karlshamn?
Gdańsk–Karlshamn takes about 14.5 to 15 hours and is operated by M/F Skania and M/F Copernicus.
Unity Line currently publishes the route through 22 December 2026.
How early should I arrive for Unity Line?
Current POLSCA passenger guidance says check-in begins 120 minutes before departure and closes 15
minutes before sailing for foot passengers or 30 minutes before for passengers with vehicles.
Electric-vehicle passengers must report at least 120 minutes before departure. Some specific vessels
and the Gdańsk–Karlshamn route have earlier practical arrival requirements, so always follow the
booking instructions.
Can I take a car or motorhome on Unity Line?
Yes. Unity Line accepts cars, minibuses, vans, campervans, motorcycles and bicycles on suitable
passenger sailings. Some freight-oriented ships accept only passengers travelling with vehicles and
do not carry foot passengers.
Can I travel with a pet?
Yes on eligible ships. Unity Line's current pet offer allows up to two domestic pets on one ticket
without a separate pet fare, but a special pet cabin is normally required. On qualifying daytime
Świnoujście–Ystad and Świnoujście–Trelleborg sailings through 22 August 2026, pets can travel
without a special cabin.
Are cabins available?
Yes. Passenger-oriented ships such as Polonia and Skania offer private cabins, including several
berth categories, together with passenger seating. Accommodation on freight-oriented vessels is more
limited.
Does Unity Line provide accessible travel?
Accessibility depends on the ship. Passenger ferries provide the broadest facilities, while Unity
Line specifically warns that the cargo-oriented M/F Copernicus on Gdańsk–Karlshamn does not provide
special accessibility solutions for passengers with disabilities. Confirm the assigned vessel before
booking if accessibility is essential.
