A compact Highland harbour village and one of Scotland’s most useful island-ferry gateways Mallaig is a small working harbour village at the end of the Road to the Isles, surrounded by mountains, sea lochs and the Inner Hebrides. Its scale makes it easy to combine a ferry connection with a relaxed stop beside the water.
Armadale is the Isle of Skye end of CalMac’s Mallaig crossing. It provides a ferry gateway to the Sleat peninsula and southern Skye.

Build the itinerary in sailing order: reach the departure terminal at Mallaig, complete ferry check-in, then plan the transfer from the arrival terminal at Armadale. Compare that full sequence with the route in the booking result; a place name alone does not identify the quay or the passenger entrance.

For the return, the journey starts at Armadale. Use the Armadale to Mallaig guide to check that departure separately; the last useful connection and the terminal approach at Armadale may differ from the outward trip.
