Use this EUFerry operator guide to understand where Tallink Silja Line sails and the practical
options to consider before checking current availability and fares.
Tallink Silja Line combines two very different Baltic travel products. Between Helsinki and Tallinn,
MyStar and Megastar operate fast two-hour shuttle crossings several times per day. Between Finland,
Estonia and Sweden, larger cruise ferries provide cabins, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and
vehicle carriage for overnight journeys.
The principal current passenger network connects Helsinki, Tallinn, Stockholm and Turku, with
Mariehamn and Långnäs in the Åland Islands forming important intermediate calls on Sweden routes.
Silja Line branding is especially visible on Finland–Sweden cruise-ferry services, while the Tallink
name dominates Helsinki–Tallinn and Tallinn–Stockholm.
Because timetable patterns change by date and route, especially Tallinn–Stockholm, use the current
timetable rather than assuming every route sails every day. Tallink Silja Line also sells cruise
products that may use the same ships differently from ordinary one-way transport.
Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony operate the overnight Helsinki–Stockholm service via Mariehamn,
with extensive cabin, dining, shopping and entertainment facilities.

Departure from Olympia Terminal in Helsinki and Värtahamnen in Stockholm
Baltic Queen operates the scheduled Tallinn–Stockholm route via Mariehamn. In summer 2026,
additional Romantika departures were also scheduled on selected dates through 8 August.

The EUFerry route map illustrates the main Tallink Silja Line network, including Helsinki–Tallinn,
Helsinki–Stockholm, Turku–Stockholm and Tallinn–Stockholm, with Åland calls on Sweden services.
The live operator timetable remains the definitive source because seasonal cruise patterns and
individual ship schedules can alter frequency.
After choosing the most practical route, compare the live Tallink Silja Line sailing for departure
time, calling pattern, passenger requirements and the facilities or accommodation shown for that
service. The complete itinerary and arrival location can matter more than a small difference in the
headline fare.
Paldiski–Kapellskär cargo/passenger arrangements have changed during 2026. Do not assume it is
operating as an ordinary passenger route without checking the live booking system.

Three core Baltic capitals
Helsinki, Tallinn and Stockholm
These cities sit at the heart of Tallink Silja Line's passenger network and all have established
EUFerry destination imagery.
Finland gateway
Helsinki
Helsinki supports both the two-hour Tallinn shuttle from West Harbour and the overnight Stockholm
cruise-ferry service from Olympia Terminal.
In Helsinki, the Tallinn and Stockholm routes leave from different terminals. Confirm West Harbour
Terminal 2 versus Olympia Terminal before arranging taxis, trams or parking.
From two-hour travel classes to overnight suites
Lounges and cabin accommodation
Tallink Silja Line has one of the broadest passenger-accommodation ranges in the Baltic, reflecting
the contrast between fast shuttles and cruise ferries.
Helsinki–Tallinn passengers can choose standard public seating or upgraded lounge travel classes. Overnight cruise ferries offer everything from economy cabins to premium suites.
Star Class
The standard Helsinki–Tallinn travel class gives access to public seating, restaurants, shops and free Wi-Fi.

Accommodation tip
On a two-hour Helsinki–Tallinn trip, a lounge upgrade may matter more than a cabin. On Stockholm
routes, a private cabin becomes part of the overnight journey itself.
Part ferry, part Baltic mini-cruise
Dining, shopping, entertainment and relaxation
The larger Tallink Silja cruise ferries are designed as destinations in their own right, while the
shuttle ships concentrate on fast travel, food, shopping and premium lounges.
Buffets, seafood restaurants, grills, cafés and fast-food outlets vary by ship. Public and premium lounges offer a wide range of seating environments. Shopping is a major part of the Tallink Silja Line Baltic travel experience. Silja Land and other family areas provide activities for children on selected ships.
Buffets and restaurants
Grande Buffet, seafood, grill, Italian and other dining concepts are available depending on the cruise ferry.
Cafés and fast dining
MyStar, Megastar and the cruise ferries provide quick-service food, coffee and casual dining choices.
Shopping at sea
Large onboard shops sell cosmetics, fragrances, fashion, sweets, drinks, toys and Baltic travel products.
Shows and nightlife
Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony, Baltic Princess and Baltic Queen offer live music, bars, karaoke and
entertainment programmes.
Wi-Fi and connectivity
Free Wi-Fi is available in standard shuttle travel classes, with premium internet included in higher
lounge products; cruise-ferry connectivity varies by package and ship.

Selected cruise ferries include sauna centres, pools, Silja Land, games and other leisure areas.

Car, motorhome, pet or assistance
Vehicles, pets and accessibility
Tallink Silja Line carries vehicles across its main passenger network and offers unusually detailed
pet and accessibility options.
Motorhomes and larger vehicles can be booked subject to garage height and length limits. MyStar and Megastar are designed around frequent passenger-vehicle traffic between Helsinki and Tallinn. Pets can use kennels, pet-friendly cabins, carriers or permitted vehicle arrangements depending on the ship.

Cars and motorcycles are accepted on vehicle-carrying departures. Book the correct registration,
size and route before arriving at the vehicle check-in.
Follow the vehicle lane and boarding-pass instructions
Garage access is restricted during the voyage
Åland vehicle check-in closes earlier than normal

Check-in and boarding

Choose fast transport or an overnight cruise ferry
When Tallink Silja Line can be the practical choice
Helsinki–Tallinn is ideal when speed and frequency matter. With multiple two-hour sailings, the
ferry can function almost like an intercity train, while still carrying cars and offering
restaurants and shopping.
The Sweden routes serve a different purpose. Helsinki–Stockholm, Turku–Stockholm and
Tallinn–Stockholm combine transport with a cabin, evening entertainment and an overnight journey,
often saving a hotel night and substantial overland distance.
Åland calls add another layer. Mariehamn and Långnäs can be booked as destinations in their own
right, but vehicle passengers need to pay particular attention to the earlier check-in requirement.
