Fast island travel with a seasonal Adriatic cruise-ferry link
SNAV is an Italian ferry operator centred on Naples and the surrounding island network. Its
year-round fast ferries connect Molo Beverello with Capri, Ischia and Procida with journey times
measured in minutes rather than hours.
In summer, the network expands to the Aeolian Islands and the Pontine islands of Ponza and
Ventotene. SNAV also operates the seasonal Ancona–Split cruise ferry, which adds cabins, vehicle
carriage and a much broader onboard experience for travel between Italy and Croatia.
The variation between a compact Gulf hydrofoil and an Adriatic cruise ferry is substantial. Always
check the ship and route shown on the booking if vehicle carriage, private accommodation or a
particular onboard facility matters.
EUFerry travel note: Naples has more than one ferry terminal. Molo Beverello serves the principal Gulf fast ferries, while seasonal Aeolian services use Naples Mergellina.

SNAV routes
These three routes show the two sides of SNAV: frequent short island ferries from Naples and the
longer seasonal cruise-ferry service to Croatia.

Capri
Naples–Capri is one of SNAV's headline Gulf routes, with daily high-speed departures throughout the
year and a published journey time of about 50 minutes.

Capri vehicle restrictions mean most visitors travel without a car
The Ancona–Split cruise ferry operates from 1 April to 4 October 2026. Current live departures can
take around 10 hours, making cabins and overnight comfort much more relevant.
Cars, motorcycles and campers can be carried
Cabins, restaurants, snack bar, shop and cinema are available

A network stretching from Naples islands to Croatia
The EUFerry route map shows SNAV's Italian island connections and Adriatic context. Seasonal 2026
services also include Naples Mergellina–Aeolian Islands and Naples Beverello–Ponza/Ventotene.
Use the visual map for orientation only. Seasonal dates, intermediate calls and vessel allocation
should be confirmed from the live timetable.
After choosing the most practical route, compare the live SNAV sailing for departure time, calling
pattern, passenger requirements and the facilities or accommodation shown for that service. The
complete itinerary and arrival location can matter more than a small difference in the headline
fare.
Naples Beverello and Naples Mergellina are different departure points. Check the terminal shown on
the ticket before crossing the city with luggage.

Three major gateways
Naples, Ancona and Split
SNAV's network spans both sides of Italy: Naples is the hub for fast island services, while Ancona
and Split define the seasonal Adriatic cruise-ferry route.
Gulf of Naples hub
Naples
Molo Beverello is the key SNAV terminal for Capri, Ischia and Procida, while seasonal Aeolian
services use Mergellina. Allow time to reach the correct waterfront departure point.
Ancona is SNAV's mainland gateway for the seasonal Croatia cruise ferry. International check-in,
passport or ID checks and vehicle formalities make early arrival important.
SNAV also serves Capri, Procida, the Aeolian Islands and Pontine Islands, but using Naples, Ancona
and Split here avoids unreliable substitute imagery while keeping the three cards tied to major
current SNAV gateways.
Fast-ferry seating or cruise-ferry cabins
Passenger accommodation
SNAV accommodation depends entirely on route type. Gulf fast ferries are seated daytime services,
while the Ancona–Split cruise ferry offers overnight cabins and suites.
Air-conditioned saloons and passenger seating are the normal accommodation on high-speed island routes. Cabins are available on the longer seasonal cruise-ferry service to Croatia.
Fast-ferry saloons
Gulf hydrofoils and catamarans use comfortable air-conditioned passenger saloons rather than cabins.
Best considered forCapri, Ischia, Procida and seasonal fast-ferry routes
Bar and café seating
Fast vessels include onboard bar service, giving passengers somewhere to buy drinks and snacks
during the crossing.
Best considered forShort island journeys
Cruise-ferry armchairs
The Ancona–Split ferry provides comfortable armchair lounges as an alternative to booking a private cabin.
Best considered forBudget-conscious Adriatic passengers
Double cabins
Private double cabins are available on the Croatia cruise ferry and provide a proper place to rest
on the long crossing.
Best considered forCouples and overnight travel
Suites with sea view
SNAV promotes suites and higher-category cabins with sea views on the cruise-ferry service.
Best considered forPassengers wanting additional comfort
Four-berth family cabins
Cabins capable of accommodating up to four people are available for families and small groups on the
Ancona–Split route.

Accommodation tip
Do not expect the same product across SNAV's network. A 50-minute Naples hydrofoil and a 10-hour
Croatia cruise ferry have completely different accommodation and onboard facilities.
From a coffee bar to full cruise-ferry facilities
Food, lounges, shops and entertainment
SNAV fast craft keep onboard facilities simple, while the Adriatic cruise ferry adds the services
needed for a full evening and night at sea.
The Ancona–Split cruise ferry includes restaurant and self-service dining. Passenger lounges range from compact high-speed saloons to larger cruise-ferry public areas. Shopping is available on the seasonal Adriatic cruise-ferry service. Coffee and snack-bar service is available across SNAV's fast-ferry product.
Fast-ferry coffee bar
Hydrofoils and catamarans provide bar service alongside air conditioning and passenger washrooms.
À la carte restaurant
The Croatia cruise ferry offers an à la carte restaurant with Mediterranean-style dishes.
Self-service dining
A self-service restaurant and snack bar provide additional choices for the longer Adriatic journey.
Shopping area
The Ancona–Split ferry includes a shopping area for travel purchases and leisure browsing.
Cinema and entertainment
Cruise-ferry facilities include cinema and other entertainment spaces that help pass the longer crossing.
Accessible fast-ferry facilities
SNAV states that its hydrofoils and catamarans provide washrooms and access arrangements for
passengers with disabilities.

Vehicle rules vary by vessel and island
Vehicles, pets and accessibility
SNAV's mixed vessel types mean vehicle acceptance is not universal. Pet and assistance arrangements
should also be declared before travel rather than assumed at the quay.
Cars, motorcycles and campers are accepted on the Ancona–Split cruise ferry. Alternative-fuel vehicles must be declared when booking and again to boarding staff. Pets need a ticket and the veterinary documentation required by SNAV's current conditions.
Cars and motorcycles
Vehicle carriage is available only where the selected vessel is designed to carry vehicles.
Ancona–Split accepts cars and motorcycles; selected fast craft also carry vehicles.
Book the exact vehicle type
Follow crew instructions during loading
Island vehicle-access restrictions can apply independently of the ferry
Campers and alternative-fuel vehicles
Campers, caravans and larger vehicles must be declared using their complete dimensions. LPG,
methane, hybrid and electric vehicles require advance declaration and special onboard positioning.
Include tow hooks, trailers and attachments in length
Declare vehicles over 1.80 m high or 1.85 m wide
Alternative-fuel vehicles must be reported to boarding staff
Travelling with pets
Domestic animals need a valid ticket, a veterinary health certificate and proof of external parasite
treatment under the current Gulf transport conditions.
Dogs must be registered where required
Use a lead and muzzle in accordance with current rules
Large animals may be subject to additional boarding restrictions
Reduced mobility and assistance
SNAV provides assistance to passengers with reduced mobility, but advance notice is important so
port and vessel arrangements can be prepared.
Declare reduced mobility when booking
For most routes, request assistance at least 48 hours before travel
Ancona uses the port authority's dedicated assistance process
Terminal and document checks matter
Check-in, documents and boarding
For Gulf routes, current SNAV conditions require boarding-pass collection at least 30 minutes before
departure. International Ancona–Split travel needs extra attention to identification and vehicle
paperwork.
SNAV offers online pre-check-in to speed document verification at the departure desk. International vehicle passengers should allow more time than a short domestic fast-ferry journey.
Recommended travel sequence
Before travel
Confirm the exact Naples terminal
Beverello and Mergellina serve different SNAV routes. Check the ticket before arranging taxis, metro
connections or luggage transfers.
Before arrival
Complete online pre-check-in where useful
SNAV's online procedure allows passenger document details to be submitted in advance, helping speed
verification at the ticket office.
30 minutes before
Minimum Gulf check-in time
Current Gulf transport conditions require passengers to obtain the boarding pass at least 30 minutes
before the scheduled departure.
Croatia route
Allow extra time for international formalities
Passengers need original valid identity documents, and vehicle passengers must present the original
registration certificate.
At boarding
Follow the assigned vessel and gate
SNAV notes that the vessel shown on the ticket may be indicative, so confirm the departure gate and
actual craft before boarding.
Choose the route around the type of holiday
When SNAV can be the practical choice
For Capri, Ischia and Procida, SNAV is attractive because Molo Beverello sits close to central
Naples and fast crossings remove the need for long transfers before reaching the islands.
For a multi-island summer holiday, seasonal Aeolian and Pontine services create direct links that
can avoid returning through the mainland. Those routes are highly seasonal, so the timetable should
be built before hotels and transfers are fixed.
For Croatia, the Ancona–Split cruise ferry serves a completely different role: it carries vehicles
across the Adriatic and can replace a very long overland drive around the northern Adriatic coast.
